Asked to bat, Sri Lanka posted 178 for seven in 20 overs. Pathum Nissanka led the effort with 62 off 41 balls, striking eight fours. Pavan Rathnayake added late momentum with a 25-ball 44 to lift the total.

Zimbabwe shared the wickets around. Graeme Cremer returned 2 for 27, while Blessing Muzarabani (2 for 38) and Brad Evans (2 for 35) also struck twice.

In reply, Zimbabwe chased down the target with three balls to spare, reaching 182 for four in 19.3 overs. Brian Bennett set the platform with 63, and captain Sikandar Raza scored 45 to guide the side home with steady hitting in the closing stages.

Dushan Hemantha took 2 for 36 for Sri Lanka.

Both teams had already secured qualification for the Super 8s before the match, but the win ensured Zimbabwe advanced as Group B leaders.
