Shikhar Dhawan was part of the national team since last year. However, selectors ghosted him from the national team since the start of 2023. The left-handed batsman might not be picked for Asia Cup 2023 or ICC World Cup 2023. However, the 37-year-old is yet to retire from international cricket.Dhawan was also ousted from the last two T20I World Cups in 2021 and 2022. In IPL 2023, he showed decent form for Punjab Kings in some games. Dhawan might get chances in ODIs in the future but cannot get a place in the T20I format at this age. Hence, the left-handed batsman can pull the curtains down on his T20I career after the series against Ireland.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has slowly faded away from international cricket. Bhuvi last played an ODI in January 2022 and a T20I in November 2022. Once seen as India’s strike bowler for the World Cup, he hasn’t even found a place in the team in the last year. His absence proves that Bhuvi’s ODI career is almost over, and selectors might look at a younger name over the 33-year-old medium-pace bowler

Pacer Ishant Sharma is certainly one of the ace pacers to have played the game for the Indian cricket team. The tall pacer has still not announced his retirement from international cricket. Sharma even played in the recent Ranji Trophy for Delhi, where he got injured after playing just one match. He has played in 105 Tests, where he has scalped 311 wickets at an average of 32.40.It is to be seen whether Sharma can make a comeback or not, but he is certainly not retired yet. Sharma recently revealed that he is not much fussed about his comeback in the Indian team.

Dinesh Karthik - The wicketkeeper-batsman made a comeback to the Indian team from the Twenty20 World Cup last year, but failed to live up to expectations. As a result, he was dropped from the team and the 38-year-old Karthik is now unlikely to make a comeback.

Wriddhiman Saha - Senior wicketkeeper-batsman Saha has represented India in 40 Tests and 9 ODIs. He has been out of the squad since 2021 and has not been considered in the Test squad following Rishabh Pant's rise in red ball cricket.
