Jos Buttler (England captain) - Jos Buttler had a tremendous year as a player and captain in 2022. Buttler hit 462 runs in 15 matches with an explosive strike rate of 160.41. Jos Buttler was appointed England's limited-overs captain after Eoin Morgan's retirement in June 2022, and he won the ICC Twenty20 World Cup in his first ICC tournament as captain. He scored 225 runs in six matches with a strike rate of 144.23 to become England's leading run-scorer in the tournament.

Mohammad Rizwan (Pakistan) – From 2021 to 2022, Mohammad Rizwan maintained his form. This year, he scored 996 runs. After Suryakumar Yadav, he is the second-highest run-scorer in men's T20I. Rizwan scored 10 half-centuries in a year and became the joint-highest run scorer for Pakistan with 175 runs in the T20 World Cup. Rizwan has retained his opening position in the ICC T20I Team of the Year for the second year in a row, alongside Buttler.

Virat Kohli (India) - 2022 was the year in which Virat Kohli showed glimpses of his former self. He dominated the Asia Cup with 276 runs in five matches. He also broke a nearly three-year century drought against Afghanistan with a stunning century. Kohli also hit an unbeaten 82 against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, leading India to an incredible victory. With 296 runs, he became the World Cup's highest run scorer.

Suryakumar Yadav (India) - Suryakumar Yadav has done exceptionally well in T20s. He became the first Indian and the world's second batsman to score more than 1000 runs in a calendar year in this format. He ended the year with the most runs scored. He made 1164 runs, including two centuries and nine half-centuries. Surya also scored 239 runs at a strike rate of 189.68 in the T20 World Cup. He ended the year as the number one batsman in the ICC men's T20I player rankings.

Glenn Phillips (New Zealand) - Glenn Phillips excelled in all aspects of batting, bowling, and fielding. In 21 matches, he scored 716 runs at a strike rate of 156.33. In the T20 World Cup, he took a brilliant catch against Australia in the first game and then scored a century against Sri Lanka. He played a key role in New Zealand's reaching the last four, scoring 201 decisive runs at a speed of 158.26.

Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe) - Sikandar Raza was the most important player in Zimbabwe cricket. The all-rounder delivered one brilliant performance after another. Not only was he Zimbabwe's best run-scorer with 735 runs, but he also led the wicket charts with 25 wickets at a superb economy rate of 6.13. In July, he was the tournament's best player in T20 World Cup Qualifier B. He played a key role in Zimbabwe's victory against Pakistan in Perth.

Hardik Pandya (India) - In 2022, Hardik made a huge contribution both with the bat and the ball. He scored 607 runs and took 20 wickets. In the T20 World Cup, he made an important partnership with Virat Kohli against Pakistan. In the semi-finals, his 33-ball 63 gave India a respectable total against England, but the innings were ultimately in vain.

Sam Curran (England) – Sam Curran, the best player in the 2022 T20 World Cup, played a stellar role as a death-over specialist in England's title campaign. He took 13 wickets in six matches. He finished with 5/10 against Afghanistan and achieved the feat of taking five wickets for England in the T20I for the first time. Karan shocked the Pakistan batsmen with a performance of 3/12 in the final.

Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka) – Wanindu Hasaranga has become the mascot of Sri Lanka. In six Asia Cup matches, he took nine important wickets. He hit a stunning 37 off 27 balls in the final against Pakistan. He also performed admirably in the T20 World Cup, taking 15 wickets in eight matches.

Haris Rauf (Pakistan) - Pakistan had a successful 2022 year, reaching the Asia Cup final and then the T20 World Cup semi-finals. Haris Rauf played a crucial role in both those tournaments. With eight wickets, he was the Asia Cup's joint second-top wicket-taker. Later in the T20 World Cup, he took two crucial wickets, including Jos Buttler, in the final to give Pakistan a chance, but England won.

Josh Little (Ireland) – Josh Little, the second-highest wicket-taker of the calendar year, led Ireland's attack in 2022. In the calendar year, the left-arm pacer took 39 wickets, 11 of which came in the T20 World Cup.
