Team India are set to host Australia for a four-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy series this month. The opening Test is scheduled to be played at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur on Thursday, February 9.

Former Australian captain and veteran batsman Steve Smith has established his name in the list of greatest batsmen in Test cricket. Smith is close to completing 9000 runs. He has a chance to become the fastest to 9,000 Test runs in this series.

Steve Smith, who has scored 30 centuries in his Test career, has a chance to break the record for most centuries in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Sachin Tendulkar has scored the most centuries in this series with 9 centuries, on the other hand Smith has 8 centuries to his name.

The record for most wickets in the Border Gavaskar series is held by India's legendary spinner Anil Kumble. He has taken 111 wickets in 20 Tests, while Lyon has 94 wickets in 22 Tests.
