India batter Suryakumar Yadav has claimed it still feels like a dream to be considered the world's No.1 T20 batter and said he wanted to be the best in the format and worked hard for it.

Yadav has been in incredible form in the shortest format of the game in 2022 as he has amassed 1164 runs until now from 31 matches at an average of 46.56 and an impressive strike-rate of 187.43. He scored two hundreds during the calendar and both were away from home.

His impressive run in 2022 helped him get the No.1 spot in the ICC Rankings for T20I batters.

In an interview with PTI, Yadav said that it still feels like a dream to hold the spot in the rankings and he doesn't know how he would have reacted if someone had told him this a year ago.

The 32-year-old said that when he started playing the shortest format of the game, he wanted to be the best and worked hard for it.
