Former India captain Virat Kohli is all set to play his 100th Test match in Mohali against Sri Lanka starting on Friday (March 04). Kohli will become the 12th Indian to achieve this stunning feat after current head coach Rahul Dravid, and batting legend Sachin Tendulkar amongst 11 others.

Former India captain Kapil Dev comes second on the list. He ended up playing 131 Test matches and was the leading wicket-taker for his team till Anil Kumble broke the record.

Dilip Vengsrakar has also got to the magical 100 Test matches. He has played 116 Tests and is one of the players to have scored 100 on his 100th Test match.

The most capped Test player Sachin Tendulkar has played a record 200 Tests.

Leg spinner Anil Kumble is the leading wicket-taker for India with 619 wickets. He is also one of three bowlers to take 10 wickets in an innings. Kumble played 132 Tests and was India’s go-to-spinner in the 1990s and early part of the 2000s.

India head coach Rahul Dravid was the team’s most dependable player for 15 years. He still holds the record for most deliveries faced in Test cricket.

Sourav Ganguly started his Test career in the 90s, After a brief lull period, the southpaw dominated in the early part of the 2000s by playing an attacking brand of cricket at number five. He played 113 Tests and scored 7,212 runs.

Former India player Virender Sehwag was regarded as one of the best openers in Test cricket also played 100 tests

Harbhajan Singh also played 100 tests for India.

The latest player from India to play 100 Tests. Ishant Sharma was the leader of the pace attack up until the England series in 2021.
