Team India's pacer Jasprit Bumrah has pipped Virat Kohli to become the BCCI's highest-paid player in the year 2020.

Bumrah, who made his return to international cricket at the start of the year, earned a whopping Rs 1.38 crore.

Bumrah overtook skipper Virat Kohli. If Kohli had played the second Test, he would probably have remained at the top. But now he has to settle for second place.

Bumrah, who is also one of the three players with A+ contract, played 4* Tests, nine ODIs and 8 T20Is in 2020. An Indian player is paid Rs 15 lakh for every Test match.

For an ODI, he receives an amount of Rs 6 lakh. For every T20I, the BCCI pays Rs 3 lakh to every player. In 2020, Bumrah earned Rs 1.38 crore from BCCI (excluding the annual contract fee).

Kohli, who played 3 Tests, nine ODIs and 10 T20Is this year, has drawn Rs 1.29 crore. Had he played the ongoing Boxing Day Test match, he would have finished at the top spot.

Following him on the list is Ravindra Jadeja, who earned Rs 96 lakh. He played 2 Tests*, 9 ODIs and four T20Is. The senior all-rounder missed the 1 crore-mark as he had to sit out for final two T20Is and the opening Test against Australia due to an injury.Unsurprisingly, Rohit Sharma could not make it to top five in the elusive list.
