The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League will be played from March 26 to May 29. 55 matches of IPL 2022 series will be played in Mumbai and 15 matches in Pune. 55 matches to be played at Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium.

With the launch of two new franchises, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, this year's IPL will be played in 10 teams. The 10 teams are divided into two groups of five each. 20 each at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium, while Brabourne Stadium and Pune.

The 10 teams will play 14 matches each in the knockout rounds. Out of which 7 will be Home and 7 Away format. There will be a total of 70 matches in the series, followed by 4 play-off matches. Each team will play two matches against each other and four teams will play one match each.

Group A - Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants; Group B - Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans

As 10 teams are included in this year's IPL, there is a lot of change in the format, but the rules made by BCCI in the previous mountains are still in force.

Each team must complete 20 overs in 90 minutes (85 minutes for overs and 5 minutes for time out). The rule was made as the IPL matches were delayed by half an hour. 14.11 overs should be bowled in one hour.

If the captain of the IPL team violates this rule for the first time, he will be fined Rs 12 lakh and for the second time Rs 24 lakh. There will be a fine of Rs 30 lakh for the third offense and a one-match ban. After that, after the second mistake, 6 lakh or match from each player.

The soft signal decision in the India-England series was controversial and so the IPL decided to stay away from it. That responsibility was assigned to the third umpire. So whether the catch is accurate or not, a player deliberately fielded.

The Super Over should be played within an hour after the match has been drawn. In IPL 2020, some matches went to double super overs and so the time was extended. Therefore, if there is no winner within this hour, both the teams will be awarded 1 point each.

Whenever there is a match in IPL, two time outs are taken in an innings. One is taken from the banting team and the other from the bowling team. Until now, the strategic time was 150 seconds.
