Secondary State Board exams began on February 21, and on day one, as the exam commenced, the paper got leaked in Jalna. The government had planned flying squads and took a lot of measures to make sure no copy and cheating cases were reported, yet the Marathi paper got leaked.

At a Xerox shop near a school in Jalna’s Mantha region, the copies of answer sheets were distributed 15 minutes after the exam began. As soon as this information came to light, an atmosphere of chaos was created at the examination centre, and further investigation was carried out by the administration.

Addressing a press conference, Sharad Gosavi, Chairman of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, said that this year 16,11,610 students will be giving board exams. The number is up by 2,165 from last year. The class 10 board exams start on February 21 and end on March 17, 2025.

To conduct the exams smoothly, 1,80,000 supervisors, teachers, and staff members will be required. The transportation of the papers will be monitored through GPS trackers, and it is mandatory to click pictures of question papers being given at the exam centres. The results of SSC and HSC exams will be announced by May 15, 2025, Sharad Gosavi said.
