Washington [US], July 2 : '1,000-Lb. Sisters' star Tammy Slaton is remembering her husband Caleb Willingham after telling PEOPLE about his death at the age of 40.

She paid a touching tribute to Willingham on Instagram, sharing a collection of photos of the two in happier times.

Slaton captioned the post "Rip sweet angel you will forever be missed and loved so much thank you Caleb for showing me real love and happiness."

In the photos, Slaton posed behind Willingham with her arms around his neck, while he held her hands in his. Willingham sat in a wheelchair, wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and glasses with a breathing tube visible around his nose. Slaton wore a matching blue camouflage print sweatshirt, a breathing tube, and her trademark glasses.

As a decorated Christmas tree could be seen in the background, the photos appeared to have been taken during the Christmas season. Slaton also shared a photo of herself and her husband smiling at the camera after eating lunch together at a table clothed in a snowman.

In a statement to PEOPLE, the reality star confirmed Willingham's death, writing, " I am devastated to share the news of my husband's passing. He was my best friend and I loved him dearly. When I met Caleb he became my guardian angel and now he really is watching over me. Our families appreciate everyone's sympathy and ask that you respect our privacy at this time."

In 2022, Slaton and Willingham met at the Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Centre in Gibsonburg, Ohio. He proposed twice in October and November.

The couple decided to marry at the rehab centre. Billy, their home care nurse and family friend, officiated the small celebration, which was attended by only 30 friends and family members.
