2025 marks 50 years since the declaration of the Emergency in 1975, one of the most defining and controversial chapters in Indian history. It was a period when democracy was suspended, fundamental rights were curtailed, and the nation faced an unprecedented constitutional crisis. Timed to coincide with this significant anniversary, Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Emergency—slated for release on 17th January 2025—promises to spark meaningful conversations about this dark and transformative era.

Featuring Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Emergency combines stellar performances, meticulous production, and evocative music by Sanchit Balhara and G.V. Prakash Kumar. Produced by Zee Studios, Manikarnika Films, and Renu Pitti, Emergency serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of safeguarding democracy and freedom
