The NCB has been constantly probing into the drug angle in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. Now in the latest development, as per a E-times report, Rakesh Asthana, Chief of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), has reportedly given the agency the green signal to go ahead and summon several big names in the Bollywood film industry in their ongoing drug probe. The NCB Chief, flew down to Mumbai city on Sunday for a series of meetings with the bureau’s officers. After getting briefed on the ongoing case and taking a stock of the situation, he reportedly gave the team permission to proceed with their investigation and summon anyone necessary.

The report further adds,  seven big film stars and even some top Bollywood producers are likely to be summoned for interrogation. The names of these top stars reportedly came up during the interrogation of several drug peddlers who were taken into custody over the past weeks. If the team finds substantial “evidence” to link the stars to the case, they will “most likely” be called in for questioning, the report stated. As per a report by Republic TV, the agency is unhappy with the response of the actresses. Meanwhile, Asthana was also briefed on the two drug cases registered by the agency last month after the ED wrote to it regarding the alleged drug chats of a few celebs from Bollywood. Earlier, the NCB had arrested Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, Samuel Miranda, and Dipesh Sawant on charges of procuring drugs.  The NCB has already questioned Deepika Padukone, her manager Karishma Prakash, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh for questioning over the weekend. The agency also grilled fashion designer Simone Khambatta and Anubhav Chopra and took former Dharma Productions executive producer Kshitij Prasad into custody for his alleged involvement in drug-related activity, a charge he has denied.
