Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao celebrated their son Azad Aamir Khan's birthday together on Wednesday. The duo has separated in July this year and announced their divorce on social media, but the couple decided to co-parent their son Azad with full responsibility. They stated that they will "remain devoted parents" to their son Azad.
On Wednesday Azad turn 9th and celebrated his birthday with his parents. Author-columnist Shobhaa De shared pictures and videos from Azad's birthday on her social media handle and she captioned the post: "#portraitsbyde. A warm and wonderful evening with scrumptious ghar ka khaana." She added the hashtags #togetherness and #famjam to her post.
Aamir and Kiran ended their 15 years of marriage this year, they announced their separation on social media with a note “In these 15 beautiful years together we have shared a lifetime of experiences, joy, and laughter, and our relationship has only grown in trust, respect, and love. Now we would like to begin a new chapter in our lives - no longer as husband and wife, but as co-parents and family for each other, We began a planned separation some time ago, and now feel comfortable to formalize this arrangement, of living separately yet sharing our lives the way an extended family does. We remain devoted parents to our son Azad, who we will nurture and raise together, We will also continue to work as collaborators on films, Paani Foundation, and other projects that we feel passionate about.
