The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has issued a fresh summons to actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay, asking him to appear for questioning on March 10 in connection with the tragic Karur stampede case.

The summons is part of the ongoing investigation into the crowd crush that took place on September 27, 2025, during a TVK political rally in Karur. The event was held in Velusamypuram and witnessed a massive crowd turnout. According to investigators, a huge surge of people occurred after a delay of nearly seven hours in Vijay’s arrival, leading to chaos at the venue. The stampede claimed 41 lives and left over 80–100 people injured, making it one of the deadliest incidents linked to a political rally in Tamil Nadu.

Vijay has already appeared before the CBI several times earlier this year in New Delhi as part of the probe. He was first questioned on January 12, 2026, followed by a second round of interrogation on January 19, 2026, with each session lasting about six hours. During the questioning, officials reportedly focused on the delay in his arrival, the arrangements for crowd management, and the accountability of the event organisers.
