Actress Jessica Campbell who rose to fame as Tammy Metzler in the 1999 comedy Election Star reportedly died at the age of 38. Campbell who appeared in cult TV show Freaks and Geeks but retired from acting to become a naturopathic physician. According to reports by TMZ, the actor’s cousin stated that Jessica worked a normal day at her practice and returned home to visit her mother and aunt. She then added that Jessica went to the bathroom and after not coming out for quite a long time, they found her collapsed on the bathroom floor. The other family members of Jessica Campbell stated how she was complaining about having congestion but didn't think about having COVID. 

The Oklahoma-born actor is best known for her role in the 1999 film Election, in which she starred opposite Reese Witherspoon, Matthew Broderick and Chris Klein. Campbell’s performance earned her a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Debut Performance. She went on to appear in two episodes of the popular TV series Freaks and Geeks and starred as Julie Gold in the 2001 movie The Safety of Objects.  Following her role in the 2002 films Junk and Dad’s Day, Campbell quit acting. The actress leaves behind, her 10-year-old son named Oliver. Oscar-winner Witherspoon, 44, said she was "heartbroken", adding that working with the actress had been "such a pleasure".
