Few days ago, ace director Karan Johar had announced a special Independence Day project by joining hands with 'Change Within', an initiative by film fraternity, to make inspiring content about valour, values and the culture of India. . Parvathy Thiruvothu who has shared screen space with late actor Irrfan Khan in their Hindi film, Qarib Qarib Singlle, took no time to criticize Karan Johar's idea. She commented 'Yuck'and shunned the project. Parvathy also got a lot of applauds for her bold comment on the project.    

Parvathy is known for her outspoken nature, not someone to mince words, a staunch feminist and idealist she took down Vijay Devarakonda’s Arjun Reddy right in front of its lead actor during the famous Anupama Chopra Actor’s roundtable talk. Karan was away from social media in the face of heavy trolling after the death of Sushant reignited the nepotism debate in the industry. Karan and Janhvi were among several Bollywood stars from film families who were brutally targeted online. The backlash began almost immediately, after people accused his production house of being biased towards star kids. A close friend of his had revealed, that Karan is in a deep state of shock due to the heavy criticism that he has been receiving ever since the demise of Sushant. He added that the brutal hatred he received after Sushant's death had left the Dharma Productions head "shattered."
