Ahmedabad to get its 1st edition of Comic Con India

Comic Con India, a pop culture experience, on Tuesday announced that it will be hosting its first Ahmedabad edition on February 1 and 2, 2020.

The event will comprise an array of experiences, exhibits and shopping zones. At the event, there will be an assortment of meet and greet sessions with renowned Indian and international guests including comic book artists and writers. There will be panel discussions, stage performances and exclusive fan meet-ups.

"We started Comic Con India with an inaugural show in February of 2011 in Delhi and over the years, with shows across five cities, Comic Con has grown to become India's greatest pop-culture experience," said Jatin Varma, Founder, Comic Con India.

"This year we are very excited to bring the award-winning and internationally acclaimed Comic Con format to Ahmedabad, a city that not only has a long legacy of culture and heritage - but also a significant young population that is always ready to embrace the new and innovative."

Another highlight of the Comic Con experience is cosplay where fans get the chance to dress up as their favourite characters from comic books, films and TV shows. Select winners from the Ahmedabad Comic Con will also have a chance to compete for the title of India's Cosplay Champion.

The annual Comic Con season will kick-off with its first show in Hyderabad on October 12-13, 2019. It will also head to Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi.
