In a big blow to the makers of Laxmii, Akshay Kumar's most hyped film has been leaked online. According to media reports, the horror comedy was leaked within 24 hours of its premiere on digital platform. It was reported that the movie was leaked in HD print and has been available for free download on the website. To note, the movie has been one of the biggest releases on the digital platform. For the uninitiated, Laxmii, which was Akshay’s first release of the year, made its way to digital release given the COVID 19 outbreak in the country following which the theatres witnessed a shutdown for a couple of months. Tamilrockers website is known to pirate latest movies within a few hours of its release and Laxmii became their latest victim.
Talking about Laxmii, the movie happens to be the official Bollywood remake of 2011 release Tamil film Kanchana. Apart from Akshay and Sharad, the movie also features Kiara Advani and Tusshar Kapoor in the lead.Apart from Akshay, Laxmii also stars Tusshar Kapoor in key roles. Ahead of the streaming of Laxmii, Raghava had penned a note on his Facebook page. He wrote, "My Hindi debut direction movie Laxmii is releasing on Disney+ Hotstar at 7:05 pm today. Through Tamil movie, Kanchana I wanted to convey the pain and struggles of transgenders and the movie received a lot of appreciation from transgenders' community and the public. Similarly, when Akshay sir is acting in its Hindi remake, I hope the message will reach to a wider audience. Normally actors won't accept such tough roles but I believe Akshay sir being such a good human being he cares a lot for the society and previously he has given so many good message films. My special thanks to Akshay sir for accepting and doing this role."
