Akshay's Prithviraj to Ranbir's Shamshera, YRF unveils release date of 5 films for 2021

Bollywood is going back to war at the box office as YRF announced he release dates of Ranbir Kapoor starrer Shamshera, Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji’s Bunty Aur Babli 2, Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra starrer Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar starrer Prithviraj. Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar will be releasing on March 19 this year while Bunty Aur Babli 2 which will also star Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari will hit the screens on April 23. On the other hand, Ranbir and Vaani Kapoor starrer Shamshera will hit the screens on June 25.

Ranveer, Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar will be releasing August 27, 2021.  Moreover, YRF’s period drama Prithviraj which will mark Manushi’s big Bollywood debut will have a Diwali release on November 5 this year. The film that was announced in September 2019, was originally slated for a Diwali 2020 release but was delayed owing to the pandemic. The team even completed shooting a major portion before the lockdown, but couldn’t proceed with the shoot until late last year. Notably, the film will clash with Shahid Kapoor’s sports flick ‘Jersey’. Shahid, on the other hand, had picked the Diwali 2021 release in January and made the official announcement on his Instagram handle. “JERSEY releasing in theatres this DIWALI 5th November 2021.The triumph of the human spirit. A journey I am so very proud of. This one’s for the TEAM ....” he wrote in an Instagram post.
