Alex Trebek remembered: Ellen DeGeneres, John Legend pay tribute to late 'Jeopardy' host

According to Page Six, former 'Jeopardy!' champions Ken Jennings and James Holzhauer tweeted, "It was one of the great privileges of my life to spend time with this courageous man while he fought the battle of his life" -- John Legend and Ryan Reynolds were among those who remembered the beloved host.

Singer John Legend tweeted, "I was obsessed with Jeopardy as a nerdy kid growing up in Ohio. I've loved and revered Alex Trebek since I can remember. What an iconic career. RIP Alex Trebek."

Jennifer Morrow, a two-time 'Jeopardy!' champion, said Sunday she was "devastated" by the news of Trebek's passing. He wrote, "Thank you for everything, Alex. Truly a life well-lived."

Steve Harvey, the host of ABC's 'Family Feud,' also called Trebek "the classiest game show host of all time!!!"

"My heart is so sad over the passing of the classiest game show host of all time!!! His style was real to me ...... condolences to his entire family and fans #AlexTrebek," Harvey tweeted.

Comedian Josh Gad posted a photo of himself with Trebek, whom he called a "legend."

Ryan Seacrest called Trebek "a big influence and one of a kind."

"Alex Trebek was like a family member who I watched every night. I remember going to the set to watch him tape a show before I started my TV career," Seacrest tweeted. "He was a big influence and one of a kind. Rest In Peace, Alex."

American actor Viola Davis called Trebek "a true, true gentleman and courageous hero," while Ellen DeGeneres lauded the 'Jeopardy!' host's "incredible career."

"Alex Trebek hosted Jeopardy for 36 years. What an incredible career and remarkable life. I'm sending love to his family and fans," DeGeneres wrote.
