Washington DC [US], January 30 : Singer-songwriter Alex Warren has shared a light-hearted anecdote about his relationship with mentor Ed Sheeran, joking that the global pop star stopped responding to his emails because he sends too many of them, according to E! News.

Warren said Sheeran has left his recent emails unanswered, including one in which he apologised for frequent messages.

"I swear to God, I can show you right now," Warren said, adding, "It said, 'So sorry for emailing you. My New Year's resolution is to email you less.'"

The 25-year-old singer added that his habit of regularly reaching out prompted him to make a conscious decision to scale back. "My New Year's resolution is to email him less," Warren said, explaining that he tends to message Sheeran "every single time the slightest convenience happens" in his life, according to E! News.

Despite the joke, Warren stressed that staying connected with fellow artists remains important to him. After learning of his nomination for Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammy Awards, he said he personally reached out to congratulate his peers.

"I FaceTimed everyone, like literally every Best New Artist," Warren said, adding that he managed to speak with several nominees, including sombr and Addison. "I had an amazing conversation with sombr and Addison."

Describing himself as a "people person," Warren said he values the diversity among the Best New Artist nominees. "I love how everyone's art is different," he said. "I was stting myself, so I wanted to make sure everyone else was good," according to E! News.

The 2026 Grammy Awards will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on February 1 at 8 p.m. ET.
