New Delhi, Aug 20 Filmmaker Anil Sharma has given an update on “Gadar 3” and talked about superstar Sunny Deol being a part of the third installment.

Talking to IANS, Sharma said: “We have started work on ‘Gadar 3’. When everything related to the film is done then we will share because there is still time. When ‘Gadar 2’ came, it took 20 years to come to life.”

He said that he wants the film to be a bigger package in terms of emotions as compared to “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” and “Gada 2”, which is the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023 and the eighth highest-grossing Hindi film of all-time.

“‘Gadar 3’ will come when the script is complete and I feel it is not just a bomb of emotions but an atom bomb of emotions,” he said.

The first two installment featured Sunny as the iconic character of Tara Singh. He was joined by Ameesha Patel, who played Sakina and Utkarsh Sharma, who essayed the role of their son named Jeete.

Will the third part star Sunny Deol?

“I believe that stories should be in continuation. I want the continuation of the story,” without divulging much, Sharma said.

Released in 2001, “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” was a tragic love story during the time of partition of India in 1947, where a truck driver named Tara Singh fell in love with a Pakistani girl named Sakina.

The second Installment was set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The film saw the return of Tara Singh in Pakistan to save his son Jeete, who was imprisoned by the officers of Pakistan.
