There are friendships in cinema, and then there are bonds built on decades of admiration, honesty, and artistic inspiration. Actor Anupam Kher recently offered a heartfelt glimpse into such a bond as he reacted to the trailer of his dear friend and megastar Anil Kapoor’s upcoming film Subedaar, set to release on 5th March.

Anupam Kher shared a post, captioning that, “SUBEDAAR TRAILER REACTION: My dearest Anil, You showed me ‘yet to be released’ trailer of your film #Subedaar! And I had to immediately put my spontaneous reaction on camera! What you have done yet again is beyond remarkable. There is something so inspiring about watching you reinvent yourself with every film. Just when we think we have seen the best of #AnilKapoor, you arrive with a new shade, a new rhythm, a new fire in your eyes. The trailer is BRILLIANT. Powerful. Layered. And your performance carries that unmistakable intensity, the hunger of a newcomer and the craft of a master. That combination is rare.”

“What I admire most about you, #KapoorSaab, is that you never settle. You don’t lean on your legacy. You build it again and again. Reinvention is not a strategy for you, it has become your nature. As a fellow actor and as someone who knows you beyond the camera, I feel proud. Proud of your journey. Proud of your courage. So Here’s to passion that refuses to age. Congratulations to the entire cast and crew for an electrifying trailer! With love and admiration, Anupam, @AnilKapoor @PrimeVideoIN, Sorry! If I am breaking the protocol of putting my thoughts before the official release of the trailer!” added Anupam.

Reflecting on Anil Kapoor’s performance in the post, Anupam Kher highlighted what he believes is a rare evolution in the actor’s craft. “This is one of the first times that you are so laid back and still so powerful,” Anupam Kher said. “There is a stillness in you and there is a quietness in you which speaks volumes.” According to him, that restraint is what elevates the performance. “It is something an actor achieves when he is comfortable with himself as a person,” he noted, underlining that true mastery lies not in loud intensity but in controlled presence. “When so much hard work you put in, you don’t see it obviously, but you see it.” Anupam Kher also had words of admiration for director Suresh Triveni, praising the layered storytelling and execution. “Brilliantly made. Suresh Triveni, I love your work, jealous that I've not worked with you as yet.” he shared, acknowledging the director’s vision behind the film’s quiet yet commanding tone.

Calling it a privilege to witness the trailer before its public release, Anupam Kher signed off with pride and warmth, applauding the entire team for delivering what he described as an emotionally powerful and deeply mature cinematic experience.
