Digital creators Ahsan Vazir and Priyanshu Modi have steadily built a loyal audience through relatable content, emotional storytelling, and creative experimentation. While Ahsan connects with viewers through comedy, poetry, and vlogs, Priyanshu blends years of writing and cinematic passion into deeply reflective narratives. Together, the duo collaborated on the independent short film The Pill, a project exploring emotions, art, and the pursuit of greatness.

Speaking about how their journeys began, Ahsan shared that his creative roots trace back to school days when he started making short films on YouTube despite limited resources and repeated failures.

“It all started with short films, I started my jouney as a creator on youtube back when i was in school, they never worked out but i learned a lot in that phase and got to know how to make a good content piece even with limited number of equipments and resources. I think because i failed for years i got to know ‘what not to do’ which i am still learning it never ends.”

Priyanshu, meanwhile, revealed that writing has been a part of his life for over a decade, while filmmaking entered the picture nearly six years ago after he discovered world cinema.

“I’ve been writing for the last 13 years, which is more than half my life. Filmmaking came later, around six years ago, when I fell deeply in love with cinema from across the world. After that, it was only a matter of time before I started making my own work, from short films in my room to random reels I’d post on Instagram without any real expectation.

It was in the summer of 2023 that I decided to bring everything I had learned about writing and filmmaking together and start making short films for Instagram. That was the point where I finally felt at ease with the platform, where I felt like myself. And I think that’s when the audience began to sense that authenticity in me and in my work.”

Despite exploring multiple creative mediums, Ahsan admitted poetry remains his most personal form of expression.

“I think i express my personal self a lot through poetry. This is one medium which i honestly do for myself its very close and intimate to me and being someone who does not share a lot with the world, i make a world with the words and proses to give everyone the perspective of how i feel about anything and everything.”

Both creators also reflected on the responsibility that comes with influencing audiences through their work. Ahsan believes art has historically emerged from struggle and difficult times to uplift people.

“Yes, i think Art was made in misery and bad times to support and boost our morale. Even for that fact hiphop, blues, were all started for hope. So to carry that purpose and legacy i try to bring that with my work. To make the viewers sit with themeselves and asking them to think what are their thoughts on what they just watched.”

Priyanshu shared a similar perspective but emphasized honesty over forced inspiration.

“It’s intentional, but not in a prescriptive way. I’m not sitting down thinking ‘this needs to inspire.’ I’m usually just trying to be honest about a feeling, and more often than not, honesty leans towards hope. Even in heavier stories, I find myself looking for some kind of light, not as a message, but as a reflection of how I process things.

I do feel a sense of responsibility, but it’s less about influencing and more about not being careless. When you know people are investing their time and emotions into what you’re making, you become aware of the impact it can have. That doesn’t mean everything has to be positive or comforting. It just means it should feel earned and real.

At the end of it, I don’t think audiences are looking to be told what to feel. They’re looking to feel seen. If a story can do that, even quietly, it stays with them longer than anything that tries too hard to inspire.”

The duo’s collaboration came to life through The Pill, a short film centered around an obsessed musician who slowly loses himself while chasing greatness. Ahsan credited Priyanshu entirely for conceptualising the story and screenplay.

“The credit of The Pill goes all to Priyanshu Modi. He wrote the script and we shared this idea since it was just a logline and he was considerate enough to ask me to play the Character of the Protagonist ‘Sehar Mirza’. Film was about an obsessed musician who would go to any extent to be great and in that journey how he loses himself. The main idea of the film was to tell that art can never be created without emotions, we even made Tote bags with that quote.”

Priyanshu further explained the deeper emotional layers behind the film.

“The Pill came from a very simple but deeply personal belief that all art comes from emotion. Everything else, from the plot to the character, came later. Once I knew the core idea I wanted to convey, I started thinking about how to express it. That’s when the idea of a pill that suppresses all emotions, fixing a smile on the consumer’s face, came to me.

But on a deeper level, it is a story about art, about emotions, about detachment, and about the cost of chasing greatness. About what we lose when we start treating emotions like obstacles instead of the very thing that connects us to our work and to other people.

I wasn’t trying to give a clear answer. If anything, I wanted it to feel a little uncomfortable. Because sometimes clarity comes from sitting with that discomfort rather than resolving it too quickly.”

Speaking about working together, Ahsan described the collaboration as creatively freeing and praised Priyanshu’s filmmaking instincts.

“Working with Priyanshu always puts me as a complete handler to an ease and just allows me to be an actor and i can float with emotions, and i have never had this much of trust on anyone with thier skills. He can make a film out of a leaf falling from the tree (he is that good).”

With The Pill already screened in cities like Mumbai and Delhi, both creators are now setting their sights on larger storytelling projects.

“Well, I am aiming for the stars and there is always a plan for a film. That i want to be part of, We are working on few ideas. This year is going to be crazy. Fingers crossed,” Ahsan said.

Priyanshu added, “Right now, I’m trying to stay close to stories that feel urgent to me, regardless of format. Short form has been a great space to experiment and understand audiences, but there’s definitely a pull towards longer narratives.

I’m developing a few ideas that can live beyond the constraints of a few minutes. Stories that need more time, more silence, more room to breathe. At the same time, I don’t want to completely step away from short form because it keeps me sharp. It forces clarity.

Ideally, the next phase is about building continuity. Not just making isolated pieces, but creating worlds and characters that can exist across formats. Whether that becomes a longer film, a series, or something in between is still evolving.”
