The film is set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war. The story focuses on multiple military operations carried out by the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. A key part of the story is based on the Battle of Basantar, a major conflict fought in the western sector, covering parts of Jammu and Punjab.

The cast includes Sunny Deol in the lead role, alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. Female leads include Mona Singh, Anya Singh, Sonam Bajwa and Medha Rana.

Amid the film’s strong box office run, Sunny Deol shared a message thanking audiences for their support. In a video posted on social media, the actor expressed gratitude for the response to the film.

The success of the film has also sparked talks of a third instalment. Producer Bhushan Kumar recently confirmed that Border 3 is in the planning stage and will move forward as a joint project.
