Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 8: Border 2 continued its strong performance at the box office on Friday, January 30, earning around Rs 10.75 crore on its eighth day, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. The Sunny Deol-starrer has now collected Rs 235 crore in India (net) and Rs 323 crore worldwide in just over a week, including Rs 41.75 crore from overseas markets. Released ahead of the national holiday, the film opened to packed theatres and set several box office records in its initial days. It earned Rs 30 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 36.5 crore on Saturday and Rs 54.5 crore on Sunday. Weekday collections saw a dip, with Rs 59 crore on Monday, Rs 20 crore on Tuesday, Rs 13 crore on Wednesday, and Rs 11.25 crore on Thursday, bringing its first-week total to Rs 224.25 crore. Border 2 also has become Sunny Deol’s second film in recent years to cross the Rs 200 crore mark within a week, after Gadar 2.

On its eighth day, he film recorded a 15.05% Hindi occupancy. Morning shows averaged 6.58%, afternoon 13.24%, evening 16.71% and night 23.65%. 

Border 2 is a spiritual successor to the 1997 cult classic Border. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta and Nidhi Dutta under the banners of T-Series and J.P. Films. The film is set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war. The story focuses on multiple military operations carried out by the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. A key part of the story is based on the Battle of Basantar, a major conflict fought in the western sector, covering parts of Jammu and Punjab.

The cast includes Sunny Deol in the lead role, alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. Female leads include Mona Singh, Anya Singh, Sonam Bajwa and Medha Rana. 

Amid the film’s strong box office run, Sunny Deol shared a message thanking audiences for their support. In a video posted on social media, the actor expressed gratitude for the response to the film.

The success of the film has also sparked talks of a third instalment. Producer Bhushan Kumar recently confirmed that Border 3 is in the planning stage and will move forward as a joint project.
