Bunty and Babli Sequel: Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari to play the lead

The 2005 release 'Bunty Aur Babli' was one of the biggest hits of Yash Raj Films when the film released 14 years ago. More than a decade after its release the producers have  finally zeroed the main leads of the film who will reprise the roles of Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherji. The official Twitter handle of Yash Raj films revealed the news that Siddhant Chaturvedi of Gully Boy Fame and debutant Sharvari will essay the iconic roles of Bunty and Babli in the sequel. 

The crime romantic drama will be helmed by Varun Sharma and talking about the debutant actress the director says, "Sharvari is a special actress to watch out for, she is a powerful performer and you have to watch her on-screen to understand what we mean, given the film and the roles, they are definitely the perfect casting, they are fresh, hot pair, and their chemistry and energy is infectious.'' 

The original film directed by Shaad Ali in 2005 was produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The film also starred Amitabh Bachchan as JCP Dashrath Singh. The fikm was nominated in 8 categories at the 51st Filmfare Awards. The songs of the film were a major success at the time of its release especially ''Kajra Re'' featuring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
