Washington DC [US], March 13 : Actress Carrie-Anne Moss revealed that she strategically declined major movie offers after the blockbuster Matrix trilogy to become a mother and prioritise her family, reported Variety.

Moss starred as Trinity opposite Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne in the Wachowskis' 1999 action classic and its two sequels, 'The Matrix Reloaded' and 'The Matrix Revolutions', both released in 2003.

Actress Moss recently gave an interview to The Independent, as quoted by Variety, and said that she carries no regret after pulling back from her acting career amid the massive success of The Matrix franchise.

The actress chose to give time to her family over the remarkable offers from the film industry. She said,

"After 'The Matrix' was such a big deal, I took a big, big break to have children and be with them. I remember being torn, having a little twinge like 'Gosh, I'm getting offered such great things. That would be such a huge deal.' And I was holding my baby in my arms, and I remember thinking, 'At the end of my life, will it matter to me that I have another movie on my resume? Or will it matter to me that I held my baby?' And I instantly thought, no. It was just a no-brainer. And I'm so glad I did that. I'm so glad I don't have that regret." as quoted by Variety.

The actress also reprised her iconic role of Trinity in The Matrix Resurrections, released in 2021. The movie had a disappointing box office collection, and Variety stated that it was impacted by Warner Bros.'s strategy that year of releasing movies in theatres and streaming platforms simultaneously.

Sharing her experience from the movie, the Matrix actress said,

"They put it on some streaming platform [HBO Max]. But I really don't spend too much time thinking about what people think of things. I've always said this, and it's kind of cliche, but you only have control over your own experience. That film was really such a gift, and I loved making it." as quoted by Variety.

Moss was also seen in the Marvel television series 'Jessica Jones'. She also recently turned up as a Jedi in the 'Star Wars' series The Acolyte.
