The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered an investigation by Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) into the death case of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The Supreme Court also said that FIR filed in Patna is correct and the state of Maharashtra also refused to challenge the order by the Supreme Court. The top court's orders came on the plea of Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend and actress Rhea Chakraborty to transfer the FIR, which was filed by the late actor’s father KK Singh, from Patna to Mumbai.

CBI SIT is reported to reach Mumbai tomorrow to start the probe. SIT is in touch with the Mumbai unit to make arrangements and necessary communication with the Mumbai police. CBI will also collect the case diary and related documents including the post mortem report from Mumbai police. A bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy made it clear that it was court-ordered CBI probe and that there is no room for the Maharashtra government to challenge this. It also clarified that registration of the FIR at Patna was legally valid and adhered to the principles of the Criminal Procedure Code. Soon after the verdict, a number of celebs expressed their joy on social media. Several politicians including, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar hailed the Supreme Court's judgement upholding transfer of an FIR lodged in actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case at Patna to the CBI.
