In a shocking turn of events three people and 10 people were left injured on the sets of Kamal Haasan's Indian 2. The film was being shot at a studio in Chennai when a reportedly a crane with heavy duty light came crashing down on location. Director Shankar and Kamal Haasan escaped unhurt while those injured were rushed to the hospital. Those deceased were Krisha - Assistant Director, Chandran - Art Assistant and Madhu - Production Assistant. 

Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal and several others took to social media to express their grief and condolences to the families of those deceased. The film's production house had also posted a note about the incident, remembering their hardworking technicians. Costume designer Amritha Ram had shared on Twitter how Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal were seconds away from being crushed. Sharing a of their crushed canopy under the crane, Amritha had posted, “Providential escape from the ghastly mishap .Literally 10secs away from being crushed under.fortunate Kamal sir ,Kajal n me who were right under are safe #count your blessingsour crushed canopy under the crane . we are #safe RIP our fellow mates.”
