Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava continues its strong run at the box office, earning ₹67.5 crore in two days. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the period drama was released on February 14.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Chhaava collected ₹31 crore on its first Saturday, pushing its domestic earnings past ₹60 crore. The film recorded an overall occupancy rate of 50.39% for its Hindi version. It has also surpassed Sky Force, which earned ₹15.30 crore on its opening day, becoming the highest opening film of 2025 so far.

Chhaava is based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Vicky Kaushal plays the lead role, while Rashmika Mandanna portrays Yesubai Bhonsale. The film, produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, also features Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb and Diana Penty as Zinat-un-Nissa Begum.

Academy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman has created the film’s background score and soundtrack. With a reported budget of ₹130 crore, Chhaava has been well received by audiences in India and overseas.
