The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday said that it has summoned Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone for for questioning in a drug-related case. Deepika's name surfaced in NCB' s probe after few of her alleged chats with manager Karishma Prakash got recovered. The two of them were reportedly interacting about banned substances like ‘maal’ and ‘hash. Now, as per a report by Republic TV, Deepika has pinned the blame for the revelation of the drug chats on Karishma Prakash and talent manager Jaya Saha.
Reports also suggest that the actress called a 12-member legal team in Mumbai via video conference for seeking advice. Her husband Ranveer Singh is also said to have joined the call. The development comes in the wake of the investigation into a drug-related case linked to the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Earlier, NCB summoned Deepika's manager Karishma Prakash, however, she could not appear before the agency on Tuesday due to ill-health. Prakash has been exempted from appearance before the anti-drug agency till Friday. Reports also suggest that Karishma is currently with Deepika in Goa itself. As per current updates the actress has already left Goa and is expected to arrive at the airport shortly. No additional security has been deployed on the airport.
