Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has booked Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after they found 1.7gm of hashish at her Versova home on Tuesday. The contraband falls under the category of ‘small quantity’ and attracts a punishment of one year rigorous imprisonment or fine up to Rs10,000, or both. NCB officials also seized three vials of CBD oil or cannabis, from her residence. Officials said she is not traceable and they have pasted a notice on her flat door for her to appear before them on Wednesday.
Deepika had been called for interrogation when her chats with Karishma were accessed in which the Happy New Year actress had asked for 'maal' from her. It was said that Deepika was referring to exotic cigarettes. Talking about Rhea's drug link, it was reported that Sushant Singh Rajput took drugs and that the actress procured it for him. The 24 persons arrested in the Mumbai case so far include South African National Agisilaos Demetriades, the brother-in-law of actor Arjun Rampal, cook and housekeeper of Rajput, Rhea and her brother Showik in addition to some drug peddlers. An official said more arrests were likely in the case. The Bollywood drugs nexus case was thrown into light when the Enforcement Directorate came across drugs chats in Rhea Chakraborty's phone while investigating Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. His actress girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was also arrested in the case, along with her brother Showik. Rhea was given bail a couple of weeks ago. For the unversed, Rajput was found dead at his residence on June 14.
