Dhananshree Verma and cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal are in the news due to divorce rumors. Their family has issued a statement denying any claims regarding alimony.
"We are outraged by the baseless alimony claims. Let me be clear—no amount has been asked, demanded, or offered. These rumors are entirely false. It is irresponsible to publish unverified information that drags both parties and their families into unnecessary speculation. Reckless reporting harms everyone involved, and we urge the media to verify facts and respect privacy," the statement said.
In contrast to popular reports, Dhanashree Verma's lawyer stated that her divorce from Chahal has not been finalized. "I cannot comment on the proceedings as the matter is sub judice. The media should verify information before reporting, as much misleading information is circulating," lawyer Aditi Mohan said in a statement.
Recently, there were speculations about a final hearing for the couple's divorce. Chahal and Verma, married in December 2020, reportedly attended a hearing at the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai, where the judge advised them to undergo counseling. They expressed their desire for a mutual divorce, citing "compatibility issues" and noted they had been living separately for the past 18 months.
