Bollywood’s most celebrated star Dharmendra  passed away at the age of 89 on Monday (November 24), according to IANS. The news comes after a morning of heightened speculation, triggered by an ambulance, accompanied by tight security, arriving at his Mumbai home. Dharmendra had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital last week as his condition worsened. Reports of him being placed on ventilator support intensified worry across the industry. His children—Bobby Deol, Sunny Deol, and Esha Deol—along with Hema Malini, were frequently spotted at the hospital. Several Bollywood personalities, including Shah Rukh Khan with son Aryan and Salman Khan, visited to check on the veteran actor.

He remained under treatment for several days before being discharged on November 12. In a parallel development, security has been significantly increased at Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai. Video clips circulating on social media show police personnel and private guards deployed in large numbers at the location. While no confirmation has been issued from the family regarding the purpose of these arrangements, the activity has further fueled rumours about the seriousness of the situation.

Fans and passers-by were seen gathering near both locations, hoping for updates on the veteran actor, known as Hindi cinema’s “He-Man". Tributes and prayers have begun pouring in on social media as the nation waits for official confirmation from the Deol family.Dharmendra, who has delivered iconic films such as Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Dharam Veer, and Dream Girl, remains one of Indian cinema’s most cherished stars. On the work front, Dharmendra’s last film is ‘Ikkis,’ which is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 25.
