Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 24 : Tributes have been pouring in for legendary actor Dharmendra ever since the news of his demise was confirmed on Monday.
Many film personalities have extended their condolences on social media platforms. Actor Akshay Kumar remembered Dharmendra with a gratitude post.
He thanked the late actor for inspiring generations, recalling how so many young boys growing up at the time wanted to be like him.
"Growing up, Dharmendra ji was the hero every boy wanted to be...our industry's original He-Man.
Thank you for inspiring generations. You'll live on through your films and the love you spread. Om Shanti," Akshay posted on Instagram.
In her Instagram post, actor Sushmita Sen described Dharmendra as an incredible human being who touched lives like a blessing.
"A legend yes, but what an incredible human being!!! He touched lives like a blessing. His hugs, laughter, kindness & immense goodness...all so contagious & life affirming!!! The sheer joy on my face in the pictures with him, tells you the energy he embodied...and shared with such generosity. There are few, who leave the world more beautiful than the way they found it... I feel so grateful that I got to witness that grace through you Dharam ji I love you Sir @aapkadharam Rest in peace A father's love & A king's compassion #respect My deepest condolences to the entire family. #duggadugga," she wrote.
Actor-director Farhan Akhtar also extended his condolences.
"A big, big loss to the entire film world. To those who make movies and to those who watch them, Dharam ji will forever remain irreplaceable. Thank you for six decades of entertainment. We are fortunate to have experienced your warmth, your kindness, your generosity, your charm, your intensity and your wit, on and off the screen. Deepest condolences to the Deol Family," he wrote on Instagram.
Dharmendra's last rites were held at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Several celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Anil Kapoor also visited the cematorium to pay homage to the veteran star.
