Dhawan brothers to unite for Dishoom sequel?

Varun Dhawan is one of the most sought after actors in the film industry today with multiple projects in his kitty. Now as per reports in Mumbai Mirror, Varun is all set to unite with brother Rohit Dhawan for a sequel of Dishoom which released in 2016.  Talking about the sequel, a source revealed, "Rohit has been working on multiple ideas for his next directorial for a while now. One of them was a plot that had the potential of taking the buddy-cop franchise forward. He recently narrated the first draft to Varun and Sajid, both of whom have green-lit the project."The source also said, "The film will be shot in India and abroad, and Rohit will go on a recce with his team early next year as he intends to take the film on the floors towards the second half of 2020.

"Dishoom which also starred John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez was about getting a cricketer on field who was kidnapped by Akshaye Khanna who was the main antagonist. The film was a box-office hit and was Rohit Dhawan's second directorial after Desi Boyz. Meanwhile speaking about Varun's other projects, the young star is currently busy promoting Street Dancer 3D which is slated to release on January 24th 2020. On the other hand, Varun is also shooting for Coolie No 1 opposite Sara Ali Khan which is helmed by his father David Dhawan. Post Coolie No.1, Varun Dhawan will start shooting for Shashank Khaitan’s Me Lele co-starring Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani, and also Sriram Raghavan’s biopic on the 1971 Indo-Pak war hero, Arun Khetarpal.
