Over the past few days, actors Diljit Dosanjh and Kangana Ranaut have been targeting each other over farmers protest. After his spat with the Queen actress a number of celebs vouched their support to the Udta Punjab star. However, what followed next, was a sudden spike in Twitter followers of Diljit who won everyone's hearts by taking on Kangana. A TOI, report states that the Punjabi star has won over 4 lakh, new followers.The sudden rise in his fan-following his showdown with the actress that had him hitting back at all her tweets. Diljit now boasts of 4.3 million followers on the social media platform.

Earlier this week, Ranaut misidentified a woman farmer from Punjab as Bilkis Bano, the octogenarian who made international headlines during the anti-CAA protests earlier this year in the Delhi neighbourhood of Shaheen Bagh. She shared a tweet alleging that the 'Shaheen Bagh dadi' also joined the farmers' agitation over the new agri laws at various border points of the national capital.She retweeted the post with pictures of two elderly women, including Bilkis Bano, and wrote that the "same Dadi" who featured in Time Magazine was "available in 100 rupees". When Twitter users pointed out that both the women were different, Ranaut reportedly deleted her tweet. Meanwhile, Ranaut has been slapped with a legal notice for her post that has been viewed as ‘derogatory’. Besides that, another even filed a writ petition in the Bombay High Court seeking direction to get her Twitter account suspended.
