Film and television actor-director E.A. Rajendran has passed away after a prolonged illness. He had been undergoing treatment for a long time. His funeral will be held on Friday, March 27, at Thrithallur in Kerala’s Thrissur. He is the brother-in-law of actor and MLA Mukesh, and is survived by his wife, actress Sandhya Rajendran.

Rajendran was active in Malayalam cinema and television and was admired by audiences for his natural acting style. He began his career in theatre before moving to films, where he played several notable roles. He was particularly known for his performances as a villain and as a character actor, with his distinctive voice and body language being his trademark.

He first appeared in the 1981 film Greeshmam and later gained recognition with Kaliyattam, directed by Jayaraj. Over his career, he acted in around 60 films, sharing screen space with leading stars such as Mohanlal and Mammootty.

Apart from acting, Rajendran also made a mark as a director, especially in television. The serials he directed, known for their technical quality and engaging themes, were well received by viewers.
