After marriage with Bharat Takhtani which ended in 2024 actress took a significant break from acting and focused on child and marriage. Recently in an interview she revealed that she regrets rejecting some major role and songs which became iconic .
The daughter of Hema Malini and Dharmendra looked back at her career choices in an interview with Siddharth Kanan. She said, “There were a couple of very good films which I could have done, but I don’t know what I was thinking, and I said no to them. They went on to be big hits, which I could have had to my credit.”
When asked if arrogance fueled her decisions, Esha demurred, stating she was a well-behaved, naïve, and innocent girl during her film career and not as arrogant as people perceived. Her rejections stemmed from scheduling conflicts, a belief she couldn't embody certain roles convincingly, discomfort with some characters, and a desire to uphold family values and avoid offense.
Notable opportunities she turned down included a role in Golmaal (2006) and the song "Beedi Jalaile" from Omkara (2006), which Bipasha Basu eventually performed.
