After the successful collaboration Bhaag Milkha Bhaag,  Farhan Akhtar and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra are once again coming together for sports drama 'Toofan.' Today, Amazon Prime Video today announced the premiere date for Toofaan which is July 16. Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and produced by Excel Entertainment (Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar) and ROMP Pictures (Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra), the movie will be streamed in India and across 240+ countries and territories worldwide. 

The film also stars Paresh Rawal and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles. Farhan took to his Twitter and announced the release date. The story revolves around,  Ajju an orphan boy born in Mumbai's Dongri who grows up to be a local goon. His life changes when he meets a bright and compassionate young woman Ananya, whose belief in him motivates him to find his passion as he embarks on his journey to becoming Aziz Ali, a boxing champion. For those unaware, the film was earlier scheduled to have a theatrical release in October 2020 but was postponed due to the Covid-19 restrictions. On the work front, Farhan was last seen in  the 2019 film The Sky Is Pink alongside Priyanka Chopra and Zaira Wasim. The film received mixed reviews from critics.
