Senior journalist and former Bigg Boss Kannada season 7 contestant Ravi Belagere passed away after suffering a heart attack in the wee hours of Friday. He was 62.According to reports, the former BB contestant suffered a heart attack at his office in Bengaluru. Although he was rushed to the nearby hospital quickly, he breathed his last at the hospital. The mortal remains of Ravi Belagere will be placed at Prarthana School In Bengaluru to pay final respects before the last rites are performed.

Ravi Belagere was known for his Kannada tabloid and various other literary works. He has honoured with many awards including the Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award, Rajyothsava award, Karnataka Media Academy Award for Lifetime achievement among others. In 2017, he was arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Karnataka Police on charges of conspiring to kill a colleague. The agency said that Belagere had allegedly hired a contract killer to eliminate Sunil Heggaravalli, the tabloid’s chief crime reporter, whom he thought was having an affair with his second wife.
