Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial, Gangubai Kathiawadi's much awaited teaser has finally hit the web. The film featuring Alia Bhatt in the lead role is based on an infamous Mafia Queen of old times named Gangubai Kothewali. Now Bollywood celebs took to social media to react on Alia's character as the madam of a brothel. While Akshay Kumar applauded Alia and Bhansali have brought their A-game, Karan Johar felt super proud of his baby girl Alia. Priyanka Chopra, on the other hand, wishes the team all the luck.

The upcoming film will reportedly follow the life of Gangubai who was sold into prostitution but went on to become one of the most revered and powerful women in Mumbai city. She built her ties in the underworld and is said to have worked for the uplifting of women and orphans in the red light area of Kamathipura. Earlier during the day, the new poster of the film was released that left fans intrigued. The film reportedly also stars Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi and Huma Qureshi in cameos.  The film was initially slated to release last year. However, owing to the COVID 19 pandemic, the shooting was stalled and hence the project was delayed. Now, it is all set to release on July 30, 2021. The film will reportedly clash with Radhe Shyam starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde.
