Actor Genelia Deshmukh has praised Vicky Kaushal’s performance in Chhaava, calling him a star known for his sincerity and hard work. She shared her reaction on Instagram after watching the film, which is based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
Kaushal plays the lead role, while Rashmika Mandanna portrays Yesubai Bhonsale. Akshaye Khanna appears as Aurangzeb, and Diana Penty plays Zinat-un-Nissa Begum. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, features a background score and soundtrack composed by Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman.
“As an audience, there are some stars you always hope will do well. Vicky Kaushal is one of them. His sincerity and hard work, apart from being terrific on screen, make you want to root for him even more,” Deshmukh wrote on Instagram. She also congratulated Mandanna, Utekar, Khanna, and the entire team.
Chhaava Continues Box Office Domination
The film has performed strongly at the box office. It earned ₹33.1 crore on its opening day, marking Kaushal’s highest solo debut. On the second day, it collected ₹39.3 crore, followed by ₹49.3 crore on Sunday. It added ₹24.1 crore on Monday and ₹25.75 crore on Tuesday. On its sixth day, which coincided with Shiv Jayanti, it earned ₹32 crore.
With a six-day total of ₹203.28 crore, Chhaava has already recovered its ₹130 crore budget. It is now on track to enter the ₹300 crore club soon.
