Film producer and former chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification, Pahlaj Nihalani who has  collaborated with David Dhawan on several successful films, has said that he has not been invited for actor Varun Dhawan's wedding. "I have heard that Varun's wedding is happening this weekend. But I have not received an invite yet. David and I talk once in a while, but he hasn't mentioned the wedding to me. I wish the couple all the best," he told Mid-Day. However, the producer and former chairperson of the censor board refuses to be disappointed. “I wasn’t expecting any invitation. Why should I be invited? I haven’t worked with David for a long time.  In this industry you are only connected as long as you work together. ”He reveals that he wasn’t invited to David Dhawan’s elder son Rohit’s wedding either.

“At that time also we weren’t working together. I wasn’t invited for Rohit’s wedding. There was just one phone call from their family a day before the wedding.” I’ve watched Varun grow up in front of me. His success makes me proud.” The Dhawans have made sure to not divulge any details about the wedding publicly, although Varun had said that tying the knot with longtime partner Natasha Dalal is a priority. "Everyone is talking about this for the last two years. There is nothing concrete right now. There is so much uncertainty in the world right now, but if things settle down, then maybe this year. I mean… I am planning for it definitely soon. But let there be more certainty,” he said in an interview to Filmfare magazine earlier this month. While the couple has been keeping mum about their marriage plans, their relatives and friends have confirmed that they will indeed tie the knot on Sunday, January 24 in Alibaug's The Mansion House. Varun's uncle Anil had confirmed the wedding date. “My nephew Varun is getting married on 24 January. I am looking forward to it,” Anil told SpotboyE. It is being said that the wedding will be attended by just 50 guests, including Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Salman Khan. The two are childhood sweethearts and have been dating for many years.
