Looking back on how she started her career in acting, Palomi told : "Acting was certainly not even on my radar. I was born in India but my family shifted to the US after sometime. I came back during a semester break and did theatre. I think I was destined to be an actress."

Her first film 'Nachom-ia Kumpasar' was a Konkani musical drama. She bagged the 'Special Mention for Best Female Performance' at the 62nd National Film Awards in 2015.

The actress said that it is a "weird thing" for her to feel a connection with Mumbai and Goa.

"There is something uncanny about it. I came to Mumbai when I was 11, as a visitor, and I felt at home! There is something about this city. I think I was meant to be in Mumbai and destined to play roles in stories set in Goa," she explained.

Palomi is excited to know the audience's feedback on the upcoming 'Typewriter', directed by Sujoy Ghosh and featuring Purab Kohli and Jisshu Sen Gupta. The show will premiere from July 19.

"The story of 'Typewriter' is set in Goa. I play a girl who returns from abroad to the place where she was born. She has little memory of the place and she cannot connect the dots," she said.

Asked what kind of projects she is looking forward to, Palomi said: "Being an actor, I would love to work with filmmakers who are ready to invest time to create a character. I am still learning a lot of things and therefore it is important for me to go through the process."

"I cannot just learn the line, stand at the mark, look at the camera and perform. I hope to get the best offers," she added.
