Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, married her best friend and Double XL co-actor Zaheer Iqbal in Mumbai. Their relationship started secretly and lasted for 7 years before they got married on June 23, 2024, in the presence of close friends. Despite rumors about controversies and Sonakshi's family's disapproval or her conversion, these were dispelled as Sonakshi did not change her religion and got married through the special marriage act ceremony. Both her mom and dad were present at the wedding. After two weeks of newly married life Sonakshi Sinha has opened up about her marriage and partner Zaheer Iqbal.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Sinha said, "I feel everyone has attended my wedding," laughs Sinha, adding, "In fact, Zaheer and I went to Singapore and at the coffee shop, people were sending us congratulatory messages with pastries. Everyone who came to us and spoke to us was like, 'Oh, we have seen all the videos from your wedding', and I was like, 'Yes, everyone has been a part of our big day. It was really sweet."

Upon asking about the married life Sonakshi said, "It's great actually and that's the beauty of it. I was just thinking that nothing much has really changed in my life except that I get to live with my best friend now. And that's the most fun part,Other than that, it's been normal. That's what lovely relationships do that they don't make you change who you are. So yeah, life is great. He's lovely. I am a lucky girl."

Talking about short honeymoon trip Sona said, "Actually, my bestie had a baby five days before the wedding so she couldn't make it, so we decided to go to Singapore to surprise her and meet her baby and her."  Barely two weeks have passed since Sinha married her long-time beau, and she has already immersed herself back into work, promoting her upcoming film, Zee5's Kakuda. When asked about her feelings and how they are sinking in, she humorously responds, "I am very happy being back at work, I didn't go anywhere, it feels."

Recalling a humorous incident from her wedding, Sinha mentions the lack of a clear distinction between guests from the groom's and bride's sides. "Zaheer and I were debating about which side Saqib (Saleem; actor) would come from. From the groom's side or my side," she chuckles, and continues, "Actually, we share the same friends, our social circles overlap so much that everyone was switching sides. One day it was the bride's side, the next day it was the groom's side. We didn't know what was happening, but we were very happy; we had the perfect wedding."
