Following the death of ACP Pradyuman Naik in the most recent episode of the beloved crime drama, Parth Samthaan joined CID as the new ACP. Parth, who plays ACP Ayushman in a few recent commercials released by the channel, has now introduced his character on social media. The actor posted a new video along with a lengthy statement expressing his joy at being a part of the popular show. In the video that Parth Samthaan posted to social media, he is seen standing in the CID bureau as the other members of the squad stare at him, bewildered.
Sharing the clip on his Instagram, Parth Samthaan wrote, Introducing ACP Ayushman in the most Iconic, loved and longest running show -CID !!! This show has always been an integral part of our childhood and Indian Television! The all-time famous dialogues as well as the officers becoming veterans or rather Legends (ACP Pradyuman, Daya & Abhijeet ), this show has seen it all and to be a part is truly a blessing for me. Moreover, me doing a comeback to TV after 5 years, to be honest, CID was one show I never thought I would be a part of, but then, that’s life - always being unpredictable and mysterious and I always end up taking that unplanned route for myself, be it Kyy or Kasautii ! So let’s begin this beautiful journey and crack some cases.”

Barboza, a violent criminal, trapped ACP in the most recent episode and attempted to kill him; however, neither Barboza killing him nor his body were revealed on the show. Later, Sony TV posted on social media to confirm ACP's passing. The channel's official page sent a condolence message with the words "Rest in peace" for the departed character ACP Pradyuman following the recent episode of CID.
