Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 23 : Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher gave fans a glimpse of the special cricket match played on Saturday, where Bollywood actors and politicians came together for a T20 game under the 'TB Mukt Bharat' campaign to raise awareness about tuberculosis (TB) in India.

Abhineta XI, led by actor Suniel Shetty, defeated Neta XI, captained by BJP MP Anurag Thakur, by two wickets.

Kher, who actively participated in the match, took to Instagram to share a video of him taking a wicket. In the clip, the actor can be seen bowling an off-spin delivery, which the batsman attempted to hit for a boundary but was caught out.

"I took a WICKET: Played a friendly #CricketMatch between #Netas and #Abhinetas to promote awareness about #Tuberculosis (TB) in India! Thank you to the dearest #AnuragThakur and #SunielShetty, the organisers, and players of both teams for giving me an opportunity to be part of this important cause! That was, by the way, an off-spin delivery which the batsman wanted to hit for a four but got caught! Showing off another side of my talent! Jai Ho! #Cricket," he wrote on Instagram.

Following the match, Shetty spoke about how people used to perceive politicians as individuals who "wore only kurtas and used their brains." However, today, in a "new India," they are not just intellectually sharp but also physically fit.

"Abhineta and Neta played together and defeated TB...Earlier, we used to think of politicians as those in kurtas and pyjamas, who used their brains only, but now, look how fit they are, as the game requires physical fitness... It's a new India with newer politicians. MPs are athletes, and the message that should go out from here is that TB has been defeated," the actor told ANI.

Meanwhile, on the acting front, Kher was recently seen in Vijay 69. Directed by Akshay Roy, the YRF Entertainment film was released on Netflix on November 8 last year.
