Mumbai, Feb 15 Zee TV’s recently launched show "Jamai No. 1" is all set to captivate the audience with a massive twist. Neel (Abhishek Malik) marries Riddhi (Simaran Kaur) and agrees to become the ghar jamai of the Chotwani house.

The forthcoming episodes of "Jamai No. 1" will feature the muh-dikhai ceremony of Neel. In an attempt to humiliate him, Kanchan challenges Neel to wear a saree. However, Neel stuns everyone by transforming the red saree into a striking dhoti-style drape. Abhishek Malik, who plays Neel was also excited to shoot this unique sequence.

The actor termed the saree-to-dhoti transformation a powerful moment, encapsulating Neel’s innate confidence. Talking about the particular episode, Abhishek Malik revealed, “It was a completely new experience for me. I never imagined I’d be wearing a red saree—let alone styling it as a dhoti for a muh-dikhai ceremony! While getting ready, I couldn’t stop laughing at how this challenge unfolded, but once I saw the final look, I was amazed. Honestly, it felt amazing to try something so different on Indian television. It was such a fun experience, from my own failed attempts at draping it to the laughter on set. But in the end, the saree-turned-dhoti was something new. Playing a character like Neel always allows me to step out of my comfort zone, and I love every bit of it. I’m excited to see how the audience reacts because this quirky moment is sure to stand out!”

"Jamai No. 1" revolves around the life of Neel, a Nashik-bred individual who, despite his traditional upbringing by his father, a pujari, yearns to carve out his own destiny. The project stars Abhishek Malik, Simaran Kaur, and Papia Sengupta in lead roles, along with Aarti Bhagat, Saniya Nagdev, Shruti Gholap, and Vora Dushyant as the supporting cast.

New episodes of "Jamai No. 1" are available on Zee TV at 10:30 pm every day.
